Two barrels for tobacco. High 38 cm. Diameter 32 cm. Weight per barrel 8,5 kg. The entire inside of each barrel is covered with lead. Inside an oakwood lid, also covered with lead. The barrels are painted in an attractive yellow and gold colour and in an elegant way marked " No 2 " and " No 8 ". On the inside of one cover a  label : " 13-3-1926 Afkomstig uit de drogisterij van v.d. Kolk Kerkstraat Doesburg" (From the pharmacy of v.d. Kolk, Church street Doesburg.) The barrels are in mint condition with minor signs of use.

An early seventeenth century painted box with a gentleman and underneath a German text.


A painted box. Long 47 cm. Wide 28 cm. High 18 cm. On the lid delicately figured in black and white a gentleman lifting his glass and underneath a German text. The sides decorated with very early floral design. The box has suffered some wear at te upper edges. Otherwise a stunning and early example of folk art. The box was made in the first quarter of the eighteenth century in Southern Germany.

A strainer. High 14 cm. Wide (ears included) 27 cm. Made of glazed earthenware. Attractive orange colour. Simple decoration around the rim. This type of strainer was used for cleaning fruit, for instance strawberries. Hence it is often called " strawberry pot ". This type of earthenware is typical for the production in the seventeenth and eighteenth century in the city of Bergen Op Zoom. Mint condition. Eighteenth century.

Two candlesticks with underneath a brass pan. High 8,5 cm. Diameter pan 11 cm. The candlesticks consist of a loose pan and a screw in candlestick, the end of which consists of a hand filed 3,5 cm long screw. In the seventeenth century well to do church members owned a bench. In order to have light for reading the Bible, they drilled a hole in the bench and screwed a candlestick in it. The fact that the screws are filed by hand indicates their age. The were made (and used) around 1600.

A brass seventeenth century 6 inch measuring device signed " F.Braeckman Geometer".


A Geometer. Length 16,5 cm. Width 3 cm. On one side only longitudinal markings and 4 crosshatces. On the other side a division into 6 numbered inches, possibly Dutch. Above the upper entirely crosshatched inch the signature " F.Braeckman " and underneath " Geometer ". Above the signature a " Fleur de Lys ". Most likely Low Countries, early seventeenth century. Mint condition.

A large nineteenth century oak lidded box with a painted sign "SAGO".


A Sago Box. Long 44 cm. Wide 29 cm. High 24 cm. In front a painted guirlande with "SAGO". The box and its lid made from oakwood. Both in good condition. Sago originates from tropical area's and is derived from palmtrees. It is used to make puddings and soft drinks. This box was used in a Dutch nineteenth century grocery store.

A framed portrait. Frame size 26 x 24 cm. Portrait size: 12 x 11 cm. King Louis XV of France was born in 1710 and died in Versailles on the 10th of May 1774. The text on this memorial portrait: " Il scut aimer, souffrir et pardonner " (He knew how to love, suffer and forgive). Underneath : " O Louis O mon Roi " The portrait and frame are in mint condition.

A bronze shackle ring. Length (including screw) 12 cm. Width 5,5 cm. Nicely decorated cast bronze. Probably used sideways because of an area of wear on one side. In mint condition. Found in a seventeenth century excavation site in a Dutch city.

A strainer. Diameter 42 cm. Height 10 cm. Nicely glazed earthenware with a classical decorated rim. Underneath three resting feet. On each side an open handle. In very good condition with minimal signs of use. No damages, restoration or repair. The large size is unusual. This type of glazed earthenware is typical for the production in the city of Bergen Op Zoom during the seventeenth and eighteenth century.

A childs armchair. High 86 cm. Wide 50 cm. Deep 37 cm. Decorated in the typical colours of Frisian "Hindeloopen" style. Rush seat in perfect condition. Old repair to the left arm rest. Otherwise in mint condition. Friesland, second half of the nineteenth century.

A toy serving tray. Length 15,5 cm. Width 11 cm. High 4 cm. Beautifully made from well figured mahogany. With swallow tails on all four corners. In mint condition. No damages or repairs. Holland, nineteenth century.

A serving tray. Long 42 cm. Wide 30 cm. High 10 cm. Typical Zaandam construction with 24 wooden staves
held together with 4 willow wicker. Flat bottom in two parts on which a delicately painted scene of a famous story from the Dutch history namely the stay of a ships crew on the Russian Nova Zembla in the winter of 1569-1597. On the right four men fighting a polar bear. In the middle a whale and on the horizon a ship with thr Dutch flag. The tray is in mint condition and extremely rare.

An early seventeenth century brass toy scoop, found in Amsterdam.


A toy scoop. Overall length 14 cm. Maximal width 5 cm. Made of brass with attractive earth patina. On the lower part of the scoop hammered decorations, possibly letters. The holding end connected with a couple of hammered brass nails. The scoop was found in an early 17th century excavation site in the center of Amsterdam. Considering its age it remains in very good condition.
